GROVE PARK ARCHEOLOGICAL SITE

The Grove archeological site is located at 28th Street North and Grove on the south bank of the east fork of Chisholm Creek. The site is the oldest known human habitation site in Wichita; remains in the area have been dated between 3,000 B. C.-1,200 A. D. It contains the archeological remains of at least three pre-European American Indian occupations: Early Archaic, Plains Woodland and Central Plains.
