"John M. Davis commissioned the Davis Memorial in Mount Hope Cemetery to perpetuate the memory of his wife. The memorial has become one of the best known tombs in the United States. The memorial includes eleven life-sized figures depicting John and Sarah Davis at various stages of their married life. Estimates of the cost of this marble and granite memorial run from $100,000 and up. The memorial has been featured on Ripley's Believe It or Not and in People magazine."
